If you’ve found yourself thinking about getting extensions, you must’ve also felt a bit lost in the beginning. Your best bet is to go see your hairstylist right away. They usually offer a free consultation. Note, that all stylists don’t do extensions, so before you choose who to go to, make sure that your stylist is somewhat experienced in that field. And always only accept extensions made out of real good quality human hair!
Once you’ve found a qualified stylist, you need to decide what kind of extensions you want. To help with this choice, you need to know what you’re trying to achieve. Not everything is possible, so the consultation with your stylist is a very important part of the process.
To simplify this introduction of the vast world of extensions, there are 3 clearly different goals to achieve, that we can talk about.
Length: Length can be achieved with different methods. You can do
Individual links.
You can put in a row/weave.
Or you can use tape extensions.
Usually, to lengthen the hair, is the most expensive option, because you need a lot of extensions to achieve an even, natural look. Sometimes all the extension types above are used in one head to cut back on cost and time.
Fuller hair: This can be achieved with any of the extension types above, a combination of some, or all of them. A smaller amount may be used, since length won’t be added.
Individual links are the best for bold colored highlights: There’s a good chance that that cool strip of violet hair you saw in someone’s hair that one time, was infact not the person’s own hair. Here are some example pictures.
You can book a free consultation with me at the Euphoria Salons by calling (619) 269-0400, or email me to finehairdesign@gmail.com if you have more questions you want to ask me! Please note that with all extension services, you need to contact me a few weeks before you actually need the extensions to be put in. That is because, we need to go over what you want, and I need to order the hair and prep it for you, before it can be installed.
